Hey everyone! My name is Hunter Appling. I am a graduate of West Point High School where I participated in the Fast Track program to obtain my Associate’s Degree from Wallace State. Upon graduation, I attended the University of South Alabama where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education: Social Studies. I am currently finishing my Master’s Degree in the same area at South Alabama. I was a member of the Track and Field team during my time at South Alabama. I won six individual 5A state championships during my high school track career and currently hold the 5A 110-meter hurdles record. I won an individual Sun Belt Conference Championship in the same event during the 2019 Outdoor Season for South Alabama also. I currently hold South Alabama’s program record in the 110-meter hurdles. Track and Field has been very influential in my life. My wife, Taylor Appling, has been at Harmony for one year as the K-2 Special Education teacher. Working at the same school as my wife has been amazing and coaching alongside her has been even better. I am excited to join such a vibrant and growing community at Harmony. I have loved my time at Harmony so far, and I am excited to be a part of such a special place for the years to come. Go Hawks!

I have an Associates in Child Development from Wallace State, Bachelors in Early Childhood Education from Athens State, and a Masters in Early Childhood Education from University of West Alabama. I look forward to helping my students discover a love of learning that will follow them throughout their education journey.

Hi everyone! My name is Rachael Howze, and I am so happy to be joining the Harmony Hawks family. I have my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education and spent 14 years teaching in Birmingham where I am from. My family and I moved to Cullman in 2009, and I have taught and been in administration since then. I have been married to my best friend for 25 years, and we have 2 amazing daughters. One will be in her freshman year at UNA this fall, and my youngest will be in her sophomore year of high school. I love to travel and read and am active in our church family. I am looking forward to an exciting year in 5th grade!

Please make sure to select Cullman County Schools when prompted on the online application. Include all students on the same Applications. Online Applications are highly recommended but if you should need a paper form we will have them available at the Cullman County Board of Education Central office front desk.
